The project-outline controls
The homepage and service landing-page Send enquiry forms send your name, email, message and any optional mobile number or company details to Design Studio through our website hosting and email service. The service page and a starting point selected elsewhere on the homepage may accompany your enquiry. Details are transmitted only when you choose Send enquiry. They are not saved in browser storage or sent to analytics.
Other forms labelled Preview or Prepare create a draft in your browser and do not send it to us. Refreshing or leaving the page can lose unsent entries; your browser may independently offer autofill.
Copy places the reviewed text on your clipboard only when selected. Download creates a text file on your device. The email action opens a draft in your email application; you decide whether to send it. Service choices, starting points and calculator assumptions can appear in the page address. Your name, email and written project description are not added to that address.
When you contact us
If you choose to email or telephone us, we receive the contact details, organisation information and message you provide, plus correspondence needed to respond. For an engagement, we may also hold instructions, agreements, support correspondence and billing records.
Send only what is needed to explain the enquiry. Do not include passwords, sensitive personal information or customer databases initially. A separate arrangement is needed if a project involves processing personal data on your behalf.
Why we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand your request and discuss an engagement. Where applicable, processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, perform a contract, meet a legal obligation or pursue legitimate interests in running and securing the business. We use consent where required and assess the appropriate basis for each purpose.
An enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. Any request for marketing consent is separate and consent can be withdrawn. We do not make decisions about website visitors with legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.
Cookies, reading and external links
This website does not load optional analytics, advertising trackers or an embedded chat service. Fonts, migrated article images and book samples are served locally. Article search and topic filters run in your browser. There is no cookie-consent prompt for a tracker that is not present.
Website delivery can involve technical information such as IP address, browser and requested page in hosting or security logs. The final hosting configuration and any future optional services must be reflected in this notice before they are enabled.
The direct-send enquiry form uses an essential session cookie when you send to protect the request. Short-lived submission references, keyed hashes and rate-limit records prevent duplicate messages and abuse; these records expire after 24 hours and are removed on subsequent submissions. They do not contain your message or contact details. Enquiry correspondence is held in our email service.
Retailer, video, platform and other external links open services with their own privacy terms. Videos are links rather than automatically loaded players. Email drafts are handled by your chosen email application and provider.
Service providers and transfers
Information you send us may be processed by communications, hosting, customer-support, accounting and professional service providers where needed, under appropriate arrangements. We may disclose information where legally required.
The direct-send forms are processed by our SiteGround website hosting and sends enquiries to info@design-studio.co.uk through its mail service. Other draft-only forms remain in your browser until you use your own email app. Transfers outside the United Kingdom require a lawful mechanism and appropriate safeguards where needed.
Retention and security
We keep correspondence and records only as long as needed for their purpose, including contractual, accounting, security and legal requirements. The period depends on the record and relationship. You can ask about the retention applicable to your information.
We use organisational and technical measures intended to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No internet service guarantees absolute security. Files you download remain under your control on your device.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict information; object to processing; receive portable data; or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email info@design-studio.co.uk to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Please contact us to discuss how your information has been handled.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the website or information handling changes. The date above identifies this version. Enabling submissions, booking, payments, analytics or chat requires a review of the actual data flow and this notice.
