Set your website business case

Contribution is customer value after direct delivery costs. Change every assumption to match your business.

Before we start.

Cost, content, editing, ownership and what happens after launch. The practical decisions belong in the conversation from the beginning.

What affects the cost of a business website?

The scope matters more than a fixed page count: research, copy, design, content migration, editing tools and integrations all affect the work. Share the current site, the pages you need and how enquiries should be handled. We can then agree a useful first scope and a written quote, with hosting and ongoing costs identified separately.

Can you redesign our website while keeping useful content?

Yes. A redesign starts by identifying what should stay: established URLs, helpful articles, approved copy, downloads and working parts of the customer journey. We agree the content inventory and any necessary redirects before replacing the old site.

Do we need to have all the content ready?

No. We can start by identifying what is needed and who will provide it. Copywriting, photography and content migration are agreed in the scope. You remain responsible for checking business facts and giving final approval. A short website sprint needs prepared content and a tightly defined brief.

Will our team be able to edit the website?

We agree what you need to edit before choosing the setup. A content management system may be useful for frequent updates; a simpler approach may suit a site that changes less often. Your proposal sets out the editing tools, access and training included.

Who owns the website?

Ownership, source files, account access and any third-party licences are set out in the proposal and agreement. We identify what is handed over and any continuing costs before production begins, so your team can make an informed decision.

What happens to our existing pages and search visibility?

We start with a page and content inventory. Useful URLs are kept where possible; genuine moves need relevant redirects. Migration includes the agreed content, links and search checks. Changing a website can affect visibility, so no ranking outcome is guaranteed.

Can you connect enquiries to our existing tools?

Potentially. We first check your tools, their available connections and how the team handles enquiries. Any integration, licence, data handling and testing requirements are agreed explicitly. Sometimes a simpler notification and a clear human follow-up are all that is needed.

How long will the project take?

Timing follows the scope, content readiness, decision process and technical requirements. We agree a realistic schedule after reviewing those inputs. A prepared-content sprint is a separate, smaller engagement; it is not the default timetable for a full website project.

What support is included after launch?

The proposal defines launch support and the handover. Hosting, ongoing maintenance, content changes and further improvements are discussed separately, with responsibilities and third-party costs made clear.
